Ok, so my plan was to take a week off and go on vacation on the east coast of Korea. I left with a friend on Friday and went to Gangneung. It was raining hard the whole first day and second day, so I called the weather bureau and it didn't look good. Bummer! So we went to the beach since it was cloudy and raining just slightly then, and then caught a bus back to Seoul. So much for a week of beach.
Now I am back at home for another couple days so I can finish up on some preparing for the new school semester and work on my final project which is fixing up my Web site in Microsoft Publisher. I'm glad I decided to change from Nvu to Publisher, because it allowed me to see what another editor does. My site is coming along nicely, but I am finding some strange glitches in MS Publisher that I don't like. 1. Opening up a link in a new page is a little bit of a pain. 2. Images are saved as a low quality image, so you have to manually put them in the folder and delete the old one. 3. Only Publisher seems to be able to open the html files it creates, so another program that someone else has can't fix it. I guess no program is perfect, but I'd like to find a program that is best for me.
On Wednesday, my friend, Heejin, and I are going to try our luck with traveling again, this time to the south coast of Korea since the weather is supposed to be nice. Our first stop is Namhae and from there I am not sure. I really miss the sun, because I don't have much of a chance to get it here around Seoul and the weather was bad last week when I went to the beach. I guess there's always next year. ;)

Websites and Frustrations
Ok, so I am learning to build a website from scratch. I was 100% clueless how to go about this when I started this class, and now I'm only 99% clueless after hours I spent yesterday tinkering around with stuff on it. I am guessing that the basics are not so difficult, but it's just a matter of even getting to the basics that is frustrating me. I haven't tried any .html editor other than the ultra-basic Notepad, because I wanted to learn some of the basic codes before I move to a more advanced editor. To be honest, I am not even sure what those other editors do. I bet once I learn that, I'll only be 98% clueless. I am hoping I get the hang of this soon. Ugh!

Back in the Game
Just finished my travels around Korea. I could sure have traveled for a bit longer, but my friends were ready to come back to Seoul and chill out. We really did a lot most days and it was very tiring, but also very fun. We started in Busan and then went up the East coast stopping at a couple cities along the way. A few days were spent at the beach, a day climbing a Seorak Mountain, a day checking out some strange and famous park, a day seeing a temple on cliffs overlooking an ocean, and much more. A few beverages were consumed as well. :)
Now I am back and ready for the last 2 modules. My American friends are still visiting, so I won't be able to really pounce on the new assignments quite yet. At any rate, I was able to take a glimpse at what I will be doing, and although it seems a bit foreign to me, I'm pretty excited. A friend of mine in Korea used to work on some websites using HTML (which is designing by code I guess) and so I am pretty excited to get my hands wet learning a little about it. He is here to help me when I need which is a great feeling. I hope my other classmates are doing well too!!

Brief Light
Module 4 came out last Wednesday and my friends from USA came on Monday, so starting Wednesday evening, I worked for hours each night and all day on the weekend so I could free up my time for my friends. I was home free, but on Sunday morning, I realized that I misread the directions for the last [lengthy] assignment. I emailed my instructor, Matthew, on the issue right away and not long after, he emailed me back and confirmed that I had misread the assignment but also gave me credit for what I had done. Very generous, but also it seems that sometimes flexibility can give people some freedom to explore and in turn learn more than they would have. I guess he knows this. All is well now, but I looked back at my grades and there is a missing assignment. I checked all my work and I've turned everything in, so I'm not sure why. I will check with my instructor soon. Anyhow, my school's semester (where I work) will finish after tomorrow, and I am off for a week traveling around with my friends who are visiting, so a brief light is shining through. I'm excited for this vacation! It's not a long vacation, but it'll be a sweet one I hope!

Scatterbrained and Stressed
Sometimes it's not easy taking courses online. I have plenty going on at my school since next week is our last week of the semester, and perhaps that is causing my "blonde" moments in this class. It seems like I can't find things sometimes and then I read again later and I find it. It happens to me in real life and in my technology 6008. I like to call them blonde moments, but I am approaching older age. Older to some and not so old to others. Anyhow, blonde moments. Haha. Anyone else have those kinds of moments? Gosh I can sure ramble about nothing sometimes. :)

Pluggin Away with 6008
Time sure is flying by during this course. I'm not sure if it is all the work I am doing in the course, or the stress I have going on at my school, or a combination of the two. Whatever it is, it is kind of exciting that there are just 3 more modules to go in the class....not because I don't enjoy the class, because I do, but rather because of the sense of accomplishment. Even though I'm a long long way off, I'm that much closer to my masters in this program. What do you think?

Introduction
Ok, so ECOMP 6008 has finally kicked off. I've got a ton going on during the summer while taking this class, so I'm a bit nervous about getting through.
